The Honourable Mélanie Joly, P.C., M.P.
Minister of Canadian Heritage

As part of the consultations the Government of Canada is currently holding across the country as it prepares to draft a new federal plan on official languages, you have held numerous roundtables throughout Canada.
To further extend the consultations, I met with citizens in my riding to talk about the future of official languages and the proposed federal plan.
I scheduled a meeting for November 24, 2016 and invited 30 stakeholders to discuss the issue. Please find appended the main highlights and recommendations that I took away from the meeting.
Thank you for considering this information in your discussions surrounding the drafting of a new federal plan on official languages that reflects the aspirations of Canadians.
Hon. Andrew Leslie
